As a third-generation entrepreneur from the RP Sanjiv Goenka family, Shivika Goenka carries forward a powerful legacy of innovation, responsibility, and impact. Her ventures — The Gift Studio, RP Goenka International School, and her work as Director at Quest Properties (behind experiential spaces like The Loft and The Wardrobe Luxe) — are united by a singular vision: to create meaningful, design-led experiences that blend tradition with modernity.

“Being part of a family devoted to building businesses with long-term vision has shaped my belief that ventures should be purpose-driven and customer-centric,” Shivika shared. “The interplay between tradition and disruption drives my approach — blending legacy with fresh ideas.”

The Rise of The Gift Studio

In just five years, The Gift Studio (TGS) has transformed into an almost Rs 100 crore brand — a testament to Shivika’s vision and commitment to design thinking, personalization, and innovation. Built on the foundation of thoughtful curation and immersive aesthetics, the brand has redefined premium gifting in India.

“Our growth reflects a commitment to thoughtful curation coupled with immersive design thinking,” she explained. “Hampers like the Masaba Luxe Indulgence Hamper or Self-Care Rituals Hamper resonate because they feel personal, premium, and purposeful.”

Shivika attributed this success to the brand’s ability to merge craftsmanship with technology. Through AI-driven personalization tools, customers can tailor gifts for specific occasions, making each experience deeply individual. With India’s gifting market growing at a double-digit CAGR, The Gift Studio has positioned itself at the forefront of the premium segment — where luxury meets emotional connection.

Omnichannel Retail and Expansion

Shivika’s approach to distribution is rooted in balance — between technology, experience, and accessibility. The Gift Studio operates through an omnichannel model encompassing e-commerce, corporate gifting, and physical retail.

“Online platforms offer convenience and personalization for a digitally-savvy audience, while corporate gifting drives growth through large-scale bespoke solutions,” she explained. “Our physical stores in cities like Kolkata and Mumbai deepen engagement through sensory experiences.”

Looking ahead, The Gift Studio plans to open exclusive standalone stores and expand to Tier I and II cities. The brand is also eyeing international markets, where curated Indian luxury gifting is witnessing growing demand.

The Future of Experiential Retail

Beyond gifting, Shivika has been instrumental in shaping Kolkata’s modern retail landscape through Quest Properties and The Wardrobe Luxe. Her spaces are designed to be more than shopping destinations — they’re immersive, community-centric environments.

“Retail today is experiential and value-driven,” she noted. “Consumers want spaces that reflect their lifestyle and values. The future belongs to retailers who treat space as a dynamic experience.”

Purpose at the Core

A board member at Teach For India, Shivika’s entrepreneurial pursuits are deeply influenced by her passion for education and social impact. “Education fuels my purpose-driven approach, entrepreneurship provides the platform for innovation, and curatorial experiences bring creativity to life,” she reflected.

What’s Next

As The Gift Studio continues to scale, Shivika plans to diversify into lifestyle and wellness categories, expanding reach both within India and internationally. Sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation will remain central to its growth.
