Tata Neu is the conglomerate’s 'super app' – called so because it brings together all of its digital services and apps on a single platform. The app has been launched on Thursday, April 7. The company made the announcement through a teaser image on the app’s Google Play Store page.
On its Play Store page, the app’s description reads: “Consume cutting-edge digital content, make payments, manage your finances, plan your next holiday or perhaps just your next meal – there’s lots to explore and experience in the world of Tata Neu”. It had started publicly advertising the super app for the first time along with the ongoing Indian Premier League tournament.
Here are the top five things to know about the Tata Neu app:
1) Wide Range of Services Available: As already stated it is designed to be a super-app which offers everything from buying essentials like groceries to the latest gadgets, ordering a meal, booking flights or a stay in a hotel, and so on.
2) Get Reward Points for Transactions: Every time you make a purchase, the app will reward you with 'Neu Coins' which can be redeemed for an equal amount of INR the next time you shop (1 NeuCoin = Rs 1). Moreover, the app also provides offers from various brands such as AirAsia India, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Westside, and more.
3) Multiple Gateways Payment Options: With Tata Neu, consumers can make payments across multiple Tata brand apps, websites, and in-store using NeuCoins, cards, UPI, EMI, and more.
4) Can Avail Loans/ Credit and Make Bill Payments: The app offers personal loans, short-term credit, and insurance, along with bill payments. Also, users can track and “conveniently” pay their electricity, mobile, DTH, broadband bills, recharges, and more, all in one go, the app description stated.
5) Instant Payments Through Tata Pay UPI: The app also provides the option to send money to a friend, family member, or any of one’s contacts directly to their bank account, using Tata Pay UPI.
The app is thus designed to be an amalgamation of features available on UPI apps, booking apps, fintech apps, and e-grocery apps. Understandably, the capital and expertise that Tata brings clearly entail the app can become a game-changer in the world of online transactions.
Talking about the app, N Chandrasekaran said in a Linkedin post, "Tata Neu is an exciting platform that gathers all our brands into one powerful app. Combining our traditional consumer-first approach with the modern ethos of technology, it is an all-new way to discover the wonderful world of Tata.
Our aim is to make the lives of Indian consumers simpler and easier. The power of choice, a seamless experience, and loyalty will be at the center of Tata Neu, delivering a powerful One Tata experience.
As the Tata Neu app goes live today, it makes me proud to see so many of our trusted and loved brands Air Asia, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Qmin, Starbucks, Tata 1Mg, Tata AIG, Tata Capital, Tata CLiQ, Tata Play, Westside on the Tata Neu platform already, and Vistara, Air India, Titan, Tanishq, Tata Motors, Tata AIA soon to join."
